The “Prayers For Palmyra, Music Revives Ancient Ruins” Concert Was True Mouqawamah Music

by Jonathan Azaziah

The concert in liberated Palmyra was truly marvelous and heartwarming, wasn’t it? As I’ve grown fond of saying–because of its veracity not because it sounds pretty–music is the most powerful vibrational force on the planet. And when it comes to the advancement of a political-cultural objective, there is nothing which penetrates the hearts, minds, souls and beings of an oppressed, liberation-hungry people quite like music. The messages contained in the simple but potent strings of a violin, the softness of a flute, the sheer rage of an electric guitar or the relentless bars of a fierce MC ripping into a classic, soul-sampled beat with boom-bap drums, will always be more awe-inspiring and hope-instilling than any article, radio broadcast, post or book. Just the way it is.

So to watch Russia’s Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra perform a “Prayers For Palmyra, Music Revives Ancient Ruins” concert live from the formerly ISIS-occupied city of Tadmur, was to see the restoration of inspiration and hope in one of Syria’s most precious cities after the utterly savage rule of the anti-culture, anti-life, US-‘Israeli’-serving, Saudi-Qatari-Turkish-fueled Wahhabi gang known as Daesh, which slaughtered innocents, banned music and destroyed history during its criminal occupation. This concert was the beautiful unity of humanity made manifest through song: International powerhouse and regional powerhouse, Eurasians and Arabs, Christians and Muslims, coming together as one in defiance of a common enemy. This was a moment of sovereignty triumphing over destabilization; a non-cliché moment of good getting the better of evil. It reminds me of the Iraqis who made (and still make) militant Shi’a Nasheeds about their love for Imam Ali (A.S.), Imam Hussein (A.S.) and Lady Zaynab (A.S.) that KNOCK on the battlefield as they beat the hell outta ISIS, as well as the ultra-gifted, pro-Russia Ukrainian-American pianist Valentina Lisitsa who slammed the Russophobic, CIA-Zionist coup in Ukraine and said she plays her music for her brethren under siege in Novorossiya. In other words… It’s Mouqawamah Music!

Verily, it is shameful that this wonderful event was reduced to nothing more than a “Russian propaganda stunt” by the likes of the simply pathetic British Broadcasting Corporation of Zion and Sorosite Human Rights Watch’s Ken Roth–who never met a head-chopping Takfiri psychopath he ain’t adore or feel the need to whitewash– because the maestro happens to be a friend of Vladimir Putin. It is shameful that there is no length that these dimwit liars won’t stoop to as a means of throwing dirt on Russia, as if the friendship between the brilliant conductor Valery Gergiev and the Russian President somehow invalidates this tremendous gesture of solidarity and brotherhood between the peoples of the Russian Federation and the Syrian Arab Republic. And what is most shameful of all is that this dazzling occurrence didn’t get any attention at all, let alone the attention it deserved, in the Zionist-infiltrated alternative press because the “Palestine Solidarity Movement” activists and other like-similar types were too busy disseminating hasbara about nonexistent “Assad massacres” and equally imaginary “Russian imperialism”.

To hell with the whole lot of these propagandists though. Because with this concert, Russia and Syria were telling the Takfiri monsters and their backers, directly and fearlessly, that this is always how things will end up regardless of how long you fight us; no city, town or village in Syria will be left in your terrorist hands and our music, our vibrance, our love of life, our love of knowledge and our love of culture will always prevail over your backwardness, your hatred, your terrorism and your darkness. May all of Syria be liberated from such barbarism soon. May Al-Musawwir (SWT) protect the Syrian Arab Army, Hizbullah, the IRGC, the Iraqi Resistance, Liwa al-Quds, the PFLP-GC and Russian forces as liberationist operations continue. And may the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra play its radiant and magnificent music in Aleppo, Deir Ez-Zor, Idleb and most especially Raqqa once total liberation is complete.
