I’m not going to name names because if and when the Monsters come for me again–and we all know it will happen–I don’t want anyone caught in the crossfire. But with that clearly noted, I just want to say Striking Star Salute and Infinite Love to my Iraqi, Afghani, Lebanese, Yemeni, Palestinian, Kashmiri, Pakistani, Indian, Syrian, Iranian, Nigerian (FREE ZAKZAKY!), Irish, Italian and other brethren from all over the world–brothers and sisters, Brown, Black and White, Muslims and Christians, Sunnis and Shi’a, everyone–who reached out in arguably the darkest point of my life simply to tell me… “Jonathan, we’re with you.” I couldn’t reply or reach back to most because I was explicitly instructed not to by my legal counsel but the solidarity resonated with me so deeply and so profoundly, that I still feel it to this moment. The parochial Israeli press has been reacting with concern to the election victory in Greece of Syriza, the left-wing anti-austerity party. While the parochial British press has been fretting about the “collision course” that Syriza has supposedly set the country on with Europe, or with “the markets,” in Israel journalists have been spilling ink over what this means for Israel. Syria President Bashar al-Assad received members of the general secretariat of the Union of Palestinian Communities in Europe who wrapped up a recent conference in Damascus, SANA reported.
The secretariat’s chairman Dr. Radi al-Shoaibi led the delegation.
President al-Assad stressed during the meeting that the secretariat choosing Damascus to hold the conference in despite circumstances in Syria and the region carries significant implications, especially the Palestinians’ appreciation for Syria’s key role in championing the Palestinian cause. Iran says the Israeli regime, through its impudent actions, has caused the groundwork for the Third Palestinian Intifada (uprising) to be laid.
“The Zionist regime [of Israel]’s impudent actions of continuing settlement construction in Palestinian lands and Judaization of the al-Aqsa Mosque have caused the groundwork for the third Intifada to be laid,” Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Tuesday.
“What is going on in this region is the reaction of the people of Palestine to the Zionist regime’s daily encroachments,” he noted.
A total of 6,200 Palestinians died during the First Intifada between 1987 and 1993 and the second one in 2000s, both fiercely confronted by Israel. Continue reading Iran: Groundwork being laid for the Third Intifada
(EDITOR’S NOTE: Hat tip to brother Joshua Blakeney for bringing this to my attention. Moral of the story here is simple: Activists must de-Zionize the Palestine solidarity discourse — and the movement itself as a whole — and stop giving a damn about the Jewish oppressors’ sensitivities. Because even if you liberalize — i.e. Judaize — the discourse to the point where everyone is obsessively preaching “nonviolence” and opposition to “anti-Semitism”, which is *exactly* where we’re at now, in the end, as this incident with Calgary activist Saima Jamal shows, the Jewish Power Configuration will still burn you. Since Palestine itself is a taboo in the Zionist-occupied West, the Palestine solidarity movement should be a space where taboos are discussed openly, vigorously and ultimately shattered, be it Mossad’s 9/11 false flag operation, the dubiousness of the Holocaust, the “Israeli” attack on the USS Liberty, Jewish power in general or the backwardness and supremacy embedded within the core of the Jewish religion and culture. Palestine solidarity activists shouldn’t be running away from these topics out of fear of upsetting Jewry and its communal organizations, they should be confronting them head-on, as every one of these matters are inextricably linked to liberating Palestine from the River to the Sea and freeing humanity from the yoke of World Zionism. ~ Jonathan Azaziah) Continue reading Saima Jamal, Calgary activist, shocked after YMCA rescinds peace award

Israel has “indefinitely” banned Norwegian doctor and activist Mads Gilbert, who has provided medical care for Palestinians in Gaza for 15 years, from entering the coastal enclave.
“I was rejected on 1 October when I was standing at Erez with a valid Israeli permit for multiple entries, an invitation from the Palestinian Ministry of Health and a recommendation from the director at my hospital in north Norway,” he told MEE on Friday.
Dr Gilbert worked at Gaza’s Shifa Hospital during the recent 51-day Israeli assault on the Strip and has been a vocal critic of the Israeli occupation in Palestine. Continue reading Israel bans Mads Gilbert from Gaza for life
