Iran Unveils, Tests New Homemade Long-Range Radar System

TEHRAN (FNA) – Iran on Tuesday unveiled and successfully tested a new home-made long-range radar system named Sepehr (Sky) with the capability of detecting satellite and space objects’ trajectories.

“The Sepehr radar system covers a range of over 2,500 kilometers and can detect stealth targets and micro UAVs at low, medium and high altitudes while it can also very easily identify and detect ballistic, semi-ballistic and cruise missiles,” Lieutenant Commander of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Shahrokh Shahram said addressing the unveiling ceremony today.

Iran Flies Final Model of RQ-170

TEHRAN (FNA) – Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh announced that the Iranian version of the RQ-170 drone with the capability of conducting bombing and reconnaissance missions has had its first flight after tests.

“We had promised to fly the final model of RQ-170 in the second half of the current (Iranian) year (which started on March 21) and this has happened and the footage of its flight will be released soon,” Hajizadeh told reporters in Tehran on Monday morning. IRGC Commander: Baghdad Untouched by ISIL Terrorists due to Iran’s Assistance

TEHRAN (FNA) – Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Brigadier General Esmayeel Qa’ani said Baghdad remained untouched by ISIL terrorist group due to Iran’s support and assistance.

Iranian Government Approves Bill to Set Up Armed Forces’ Marine Industries Organization

TEHRAN (FNA) – The Iranian government approved a bill to establish the Armed Forces Marine Industries Organization in a move to enhance the country’s deterrence and military power.

The ratification was approved during a cabinet meeting in Tehran on Wednesday.

The cabinet ratification is aimed at developing deterrence capabilities and providing the defensive needs of the Iranian Armed Forces to surface and subsurface vessels, Surface-Effect Ships (SES), speed boats, and dynamic power systems as well as manufacturing, supplying and optimizing equipment and weapons mainly through home-grown and indigenized technologies, and conducting operational tests and providing logistic services based on new standards.
