IRGC denies negotiations are source of Iran’s security

The head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Maj. Gen. Mohammad Ali Jaffari, has rejected claims by Iran’s top nuclear negotiator that the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the UN Security Council have made Iran more secure. Rather, Jaffari praised Iran’s defensive and military capabilities, which he said have allowed the nuclear negotiators to operate from a position of strength.

After a meeting of the top officials of the armed forces, Jaffari told reporters, “The strength of our diplomacy in the nuclear negotiations is indebted to the inspiration of the Islamic Revolution and the defensive and security powers of our system.” Continue reading IRGC denies negotiations are source of Iran’s security

Iran Rejects Military Cooperation with Anti-ISIS Coalition in Iraq

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran rejected military cooperation with the so-called anti-ISIL coalition, led by the US, in Iraq, and said Tehran’s role in assisting the Iraqi government in this regard is merely consultative.

“No change has happened in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s policy of campaign against Takfiri groups, assisting the Iraqi government and presenting consultations on the fight against terrorist and Takfiri groups, and the news about Iran’s cooperation with the military groups of other countries in the war on ISIL is not true,” Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham told reporters in Tehran on Wednesday.

“We deny the news reports on military cooperation,” she reiterated.

Commander: Iran Expanding Air Defense Network

TEHRAN (FNA) – Commander of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmayeeli stressed his forces’ full preparedness to defend Iran’s airspace, and said the country plans to further expand its air defense network.

“Today the country’s airspace is monitored point by point by the air defense base, and with God’s help, the power of the air defense base will grow even further after we increase our air defense points from 3,600 to 5,000 sites,” Esmayeeli said after visiting Zabol radar site in Southeastern Iran on Sunday.

Iranian commanders have on many occasions underlined that Iran’s outstanding air defense power has, as acknowledged by the entire world, made Iran’s sky the most secure one in the world thanks to using different home-made equipment and weapons.

Admiral Habibollah Sayyari: New submarine, destroyer to join Iran Navy soon

The commander of the Iranian Navy says a new domestically-manufactured submarine and a home-made destroyer will soon join the country’s naval fleet.

Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said at a press conference on Saturday that Iran will soon unveil Fateh (Conqueror) submarine and Damavand destroyer.

Sayyari added that two newly-overhauled SH combat helicopters and an anti-surface AB212 helicopter will also join the Iranian Navy, and also noted that Iran’s self sufficiency in the defense sector has made it capable of exporting its innovative military hardware. Iran Unveils 4 New Home-Made Helicopters

TEHRAN (FNA) – Four new home-made helicopters were unveiled in the 7th International Air and Aviation Industries exhibition on Kish Island on Tuesday in the presence of the Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari.

Kish Island in the Persian Gulf is hosting the 4-day 7th International Air and Aviation Industries exhibition of Iran which started work today.

Sattari visited different parts of the exhibition and unveiled four home-made commercial, environmental monitoring and surveillance, training and tourist helicopters.

Iran unveils latest home-made drone, Ababil 3

Iran has unveiled its latest domestically-manufactured state-of-the-art unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which can be used in reconnaissance operations.

The Ababil 3, which was put on display in the 7th International Aviation Industry Exhibition in the southern island of Kish on Tuesday, has a flight endurance of eight hours and effective operational radius of 250 kilometers.

The UAV can fly at an altitude of 15,000 feet and transmit images simultaneously to ground control stations or any other platforms.

Khamenei says world relies on Iran’s armed forces

At an Imam Ali University for Army Officers commencement ceremony, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told young officers to prepare themselves to further the Iranian military’s scientific progress.

According to Khamenei.ir, discussing the “spiritual capabilities, the scientific abilities, power of ingenuity and resolution” of Iran’s armed forces during the Iran-Iraq war, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “The world counts on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces and takes it seriously because it knows that in any area of responsibility … the armed forces will do their best.”

He did not elaborate on any specifics, but encouraged the students to “elevate Iran’s military organization” by taking advantage of the country’s scientific abilities. Ayatollah Khamenei also tackled Islamophobia at the ceremony, noting that, “Global ill-wishers and bullying powers are trying to use art, politics, militarism and all [other] means to keep the voice of pure Islam from being heard, but the voice has been heard, and an indication of that is hegemonic powers’ growing fear. Iranian Intelligence Minister: Bombing Plots during Moharram Mourning Ceremonies Foiled

TEHRAN (FNA) – Iranian Intelligence Minister Seyed Mahmoud Alawi announced on Wednesday that the country’s forces have foiled bombing plots in the Central city of Qom during the Moharram mourning ceremonies (October 26-November 4).

“During the mourning days of Moharram (lunar) month this year, some sought to plant bombs in Qom city but they were arrested before doing any action,” Alawi said in the Western city of Hamedan today.

People in Iran and other countries throughout the world mourn the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hossein (PBUH) on the first ten days of Moharram.

Iranian Commander: Hizbullah and Palestinian Resistance Possess Fateh-Class Missiles

TEHRAN (FNA) – Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force Brigadier General Seyed Majid Moussavi announced that the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance groups are in possession of Fateh-class missiles which were developed by Iran a few years ago.

Speaking in an interview with ‘Qiam Sejjilha’ magazine on Wednesday, Moussavi said that the late commander and head of the IRGC Missile Research Center, Martyr Major General Tehrani Moqaddam, who was martyred in an explosion in 2011, supported and helped Hezbollah and the Palestinian resistance groups to develop missile capabilities.

“Considering the range of their missiles, they are able now to attack all targets from Southern to Northern parts of the occupied territories,” he said.
