Sayyed Nasrallah Salutes Umm Imad Mughniyeh (R.A.), Reminds Us That Women Are The Foundation Of Resistance

by Jonathan Azaziah

Of course Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was going to speak about Umm Imad, Hajjeh Amina Salameh (R.A.), who passed away at the age of 80 just a few days ago. Of course it was going to be profound. And of course we were going to be moved by it like houses are moved by tornadoes. This was a big loss–in terms of the emotional impact, not the strategic or operational impact on the Mouqawamah itself–and one that is very close to the Hizbullah Secretary-General’s blessed and pristine heart. Sayyed Abou Hadi revealed that the Matriarch of Mouqawamah (R.A.) was key in establishing several think tanks and foundations affiliated with the Resistance from its earliest days and said that her house was more like Hizbullah’s House, especially after Hajj Redwan’s (R.A.) martyrdom as well as during sensitive periods in intelligence battles with the enemy.

He praised her strength, her steadfastness and her faith, pointing out that anyone who came in contact with her was touched by her seemingly unlimited Nour, and also noted that she was a true moujahida, playing a key role in aiding the Mouqawamah’s psychological warfare operations. The Mother of Martyrs (R.A.) was always present in the homes of the Shouhada, Nasrallah went on, and she gave hope to families in their darkest hours, consoling them, guiding them and providing them with the wisdom they needed to fight on.

Umm Imad (R.A.) had been defending Islam and resisting Zio-Imperialism since she was a young girl. Clearly, this is why Quds Force Commander Hajj Qassem Suleimani called her a “legendary woman” as well as the “Mother of Hizbullah” and Palestinian Islamic Jihad Secretary-General Ziad al-Nakhleh referred to her as a “model of sumoud and resistance for the entire Arab-Islamic world; the inspiration to pursue resistance until the whole of Palestine is liberated.” Nasrallah echoed these sentiments and encapsulated exactly who the Matriarch of Mouqawamah (R.A.) was with his simple observation that without her, both literally and figuratively, there’d be no Hajj Imad Mughniyeh (R.A.), for she didn’t merely “bring him to life”. She “raised to him be the Commander he was destined to be” as well. Hajj Redwan’s (R.A.) Yaqeen, Taqwa and commitment to battle the usurping Zionist entity all came from her. Quoting Imam Khomeini (R.A.), Sayyed Nasrallah said that like the Holy Qur’an molds human beings, she molded the founder of Hizbullah’s School of Fighting.

This arguably makes her the greatest asset that the Lebanese Islamic Resistance has ever had. For just as it is Hajj Redwan (R.A.) who put forth the blueprint on how to combat the illegitimate ‘Israeli’ regime on the military, cultural and mental levels, Umm Redwan (R.A.) laid the brick for how to alchemize unspeakable loss and crippling pain into immeasurable gifts and unbreakable will. We are reminded in this moment of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W.) who couldn’t have gotten through the early days of his advent without Lady Khadija (A.S.) Or Imam Ali (A.S.) who persevered in his toughest moments because of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (A.S.) Or Imam Zayn al-Abideen (A.S.), who wouldn’t have even made it to the Imamat if it wasn’t for the courage of Karbala’s Heroine, his aunt, Lady Zaynab al-Kubra (A.S.) Or Imam Jaafar al-Sadiq (A.S.), whose teachings wouldn’t have spread as far and wide as they did without Sayyeda Hamida al-Khatoun (A.S.)

Or Imam Khomeini (R.A.), whose history-shifting Islamic Revolution wouldn’t have reached the boiling point without the patience and commitment of his beloved wife, Khadijeh Saqafi (R.A.) Or Sheikh Ibrahim Yaqoub al-Zakzaky of Nigeria, whose wife Sayyeda Zeenat has been with him every step of the way, even facing unjust imprisonment right alongside him. Or Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, whose wife Fatima Yassin, a strong Mouqawamist herself and the heir apparent of Umm Imad (R.A.), helped him shoulder the responsibility of leading the Resistance in the wake of Sayyed Abbas Moussawi’s (R.A.) martyrdom at the gnarled hands of the Zio-Tumor. Through grace and dignity, might and light, the women of Islam… Uphold Islam. And the women of the Resistance… Uphold the resistance.

Women aren’t mere pillars… They’re the very foundation. They aren’t mere starshine… They’re entire constellations. Hajjeh Amina Salameh (R.A.) was (and is) a network of the brightest constellations that illuminate galaxies, not just planets, all on her own. As Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s speech marked, we should all retrace her footsteps and walk her honored path. Keyword being all. If there were more women and men in the world that exhibited the angelic qualities of Umm Redwan (R.A.), there wouldn’t be an Empire of Zion or a hegemonic Dajjalic system it controlled to speak of. Without a doubt. May the Matriarch of Mouqawamah (R.A.) be at peace with her sons (R.A.) in Jannah al-Firdaus. And as always: Labaykah ya Nasrallah!
