Naksa Day 2016: We Shall Not Be Sad Or Broken But Hopeful

by Jonathan Azaziah

On Naksa Day 2016, 49 years after the Zionist abomination stole the rest of Al-Quds, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip (which has since been liberated though is still besieged), the Egyptian Sinai (which the ‘Israelis’ still control though they dismantled the ‘Yamit’ settlement) and the Syrian Golan Heights (which Syria regained a part of in the ’73 October War), I am going to refrain from thinking about the hundreds of thousands of refugees brought about by this Zionist aggression, the tens of thousands of innocents murdered, the hundreds of destroyed Palestinian and Syrian villages, the new hideous Jewish colonies that have been constructed and every other monstrosity inextricably linked to the criminal ‘Israeli’ entity’s putrefying presence. Though it is indeed the “day of the setback”, I am going to try with every fiber of my being not to dwell on the sadness, the tragedies, the shattered hearts and the broken dreams, for if we stay in that dark space, we shall be swallowed.

Instead, I am going to focus on the martyrs and heroes of Palestine, Lebanon and the Syrian Arab Republic first and foremost, as well as the fallen warriors of Iraq, Iran, Bahrain, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, occupied Kashmir AND MOST ESPECIALLY YEMEN (the front line against Zionist Al-Saud), who have all given their lives on the path to Palestine’s restoration and total liberation. I am going to think of Hizbullah colossuses Hajj Moustafa “Sayyed Zulfiqar” Badreddine, Samir al-Quntar, Muhammad “Abou Issa” Issa and Hajj Imad Mughniyeh. I am going to think of living legend and Qassam Brigades Commander Muhammad al-Deif, who has defied death more times than we can fathom. I am going to think of Islamic Jihad and its enduring Secretary-General Ramadan Shallah. I am going to think of the PFLP, the Abdel Qader al-Husseini Brigades, the DFLP and the PRC. I am going to think of every single lionhearted Palestinian youth who, in defiance of the corrupt, collaborationist PA, the “Arab Spring” sellouts and our region’s traitorous tyrants, picks up a stone, a knife, an axe, a gun or the keys to a car and heads out to confront the enemy with nothing in his or her head but martyrdom. I am going to think of every Palestinian in exile who fights World Zionism with his or her eloquent tongue and steady pen. I am going to think of Hope, because the ‘Israeli’ monsters want to eradicate this word from our lexicon and this feeling from our collective emotional spectrum. I am going to live Hope. Breathe Hope. Write Hope. And FEEL Hope. Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei says ‘Israel’ will be gone in 20 years. I’m with that. Insha’ALLAH it shall be even sooner.

Why should we be consumed by Hope? Because June 5th also marks Hizbullah’s very first victory in the Zionist war on Syria, when the Lebanese Islamic Resistance liberated Al-Qusayr in the Homs countryside from the Takfiri scourge and dealt a crushing blow to Empire Judaica’s “Syrian revolution” scheme. Hizbullah saved the region at a time when we were about to enter a catastrophic era of another Naksa. Apart from the ever-steadfast Palestinian people themselves, there is nobody in the Ummah who has paid a heavier price in word, deed and blood for the Palestinian cause than Hizbullah. And if Palestinians along with Lebanon’s righteous Mouqawamah can remain Hopeful, victorious and focused on the liberation of Al-Aqsa, Qoubbat al-Sakhrah and every inch of Palestine in spite of such duress, we have no excuse not to follow suit. So while we should absolutely mourn this Naksa, this setback, and reflect on it, we should also take solace in the fact that like the Zionist entity’s existence, it is only a temporary one. ‪#‎Ta7yaFalasteen‬ ‪#‎FreeAllOfAlQuds‬ ‪#‎LongLivePalestine‬ ‪#‎DeathToIsrael‬ ‪#‎LiberatePalestineFromTheRiverToTheSea‬
