Founded by Iraqi-American MC, poet, writer and radio show host Jonathan “Madd Cold” Azaziah and several of his brothers in arms, Mouqawamah Music is a revolutionary edutainment project birthed to relentlessly tackle decolonization on the geopolitical, musical, spiritual, cultural and historical levels and raise the proverbial fist against the decadent zeitgeist of World Zionism.
We categorically reject the hegemonic status quo of the US-“Israeli” Empire’s mainstream media as well as its infinitely more deceptive and dangerous counterpart, the controlled opposition of the so-called “alternative” information sphere, and thus, vow to provide a message of unique substance and intellectual resistance, with unwavering commitment, not only to counter the aforesaid hegemonic status quo, but ultimately, to topple it. For as our great and sorely missed teacher Malcolm X (R.A.) famously said, “The people who are involved in a revolution don’t become a part of the system, they destroy the system, they change the system and replace it with a better one.”
Due to our unequivocally pro-Palestine, pro-Resistance, pro-Iran, pro-Syria, pro-Global-South, anti-Zionist, anti-Jewish-supremacist, anti-Takfiri and anti-imperialist core, Mouqawamah Music will not, under any circumstances, kowtow to the sensitivities of any one of the criminal factions that comprise the Judeo-Atlanticist ruling establishment. In an environment where language is the oppressor’s most effective bludgeon in his subjugation of those who would defy him, to offend that oppressor with the pen and the microphone is to engage in an act of sublime resistance. To make that oppressor uncomfortable is, simply put, to know life. As the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W.) so eloquently stated, “The most virtuous Jihad is to speak truth in the face of a tyrannical oppressor.”
Mouqawamah Music is that truth, and in its spirit, we resoundingly shout “NO!” to normalization with the enemy. We declare that no taboo is off-limits and all existing narratives will be decimated. We will turn the tables like Jesus Christ (A.S.) when he flipped on the Pharisaic moneychangers. The paradigm will be shifted. We ain’t just rattling the cages, we’re breakin’ out of ‘em. And the discourse — like Algeria in ‘62, Iran in ‘79, Venezuela in ‘99, Lebanon in 2000 and every inch of Palestine tomorrow, from Gaza to Al-Naqab to Al-Quds to Al-Jalil (the Galilee), from the River to Sea — will be liberated. Insha’ALLAH khair ya Rab!
