IRGC Commander: Chain of Resistance Stretching Across Region

(EDITOR’S NOTE: The following statement from the IRGC’s lieutenant commander, while obviously lacking in detail, is still extraordinarily stunning and seems to confirm Mouqawamah Music’s analysis from October, “The Long Arm of the Resistance: From Yemen to Saudi and Back Again”, which theorized, using strong evidence, that Hizbullah and the IRGC are aiding the Houthis — aka Ansarullah — in Yemen against the US-“Israeli”-Saudi-backed regime in Sanaa. Brigadier General Salami’s words shouldn’t be seen as braggadocio but rather as a warning to the Judaic Power Configuration and its regional lackeys that despite their best efforts to subjugate, undermine and stifle mouqawamah, the Resistance Axis is not to be messed with as it has only prospered, increased steadfastness and added additional members. Inspiring doesn’t really seem to cut it… With the new year upon us, and a year of great victories but great sadness and terrible losses finally behind us, a much more appropriate word would be hopeful. Iran, Hizbullah, Syria and the Houthis are like a life-raft of hope and light in a pessimistic world drowning in darkness; may 2015 bring us more hope, exponentially, and may the “chain of resistance” spoken of by the IRGC second-in-command stretch out across the globe until World Zionism is choked into breathlessness. ~ Jonathan Azaziah)

TEHRAN (FNA)- Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami underscored that the chain of resistance and Islamic Revolution is spreading across the regional states, including Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

“Today, we are witnessing that the Islamic Revolution’s potentials are linked to Iraq and we have a popular army in Iraq which has ties with the (Islamic) Revolution and is 10 times larger than the Lebanese Hezbollah in terms of quantity,” Salami said, addressing a forum in Tehran on Tuesday.

“Also in Syria, as a pivotal ring of resistance, we have a popular army tied to the Islamic Revolution which has chosen the Basiji (volunteer forces) school of thought as its role model,” he added.

Salami stressed the Islamic Revolution’s influence in Yemen, and said Ansar al-Hezbollah is now acting based on the Islamic Revolution’s rationale.

In relevant remarks in November, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani reiterated the country’s regional clout and influential role, and said even the US statesmen had admitted this reality.

Addressing a local gathering in the Northeastern province of Khorassan Razavi last month, Larijani referred to Iran’s huge achievements in regional and international levels, and said that even Americans had admitted Iran’s influential role in the region.

He also criticized those who believed they have succeeded to damage Iran’s economy, and said, “We have run the country with $6 billion during the imposed war time. Today the situation is different and we have learnt how to overcome difficulties.”

Also in November, Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli underlined that the country’s influential role in the region and its regional clout made Washington to sit to the negotiating table with Tehran.

“Iran’s regional clout forced the US to hold negotiations with Iran,” Rahmani Fazli said in a meeting with Head of the Central Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party Meng Jianzhu in Tehran.

He said that the US has led the imposition of cruel sanctions against Tehran to restrict Iran’s regional clout.

Rahmani Fazli downplayed the effects of sanctions against Tehran, and said, “The Iranian people and government have always proved that they enjoy the spirit and power of resistance against the enemies’ bullying and prates.”
