The 13th of Rajab, one of the holiest dates on the Islamic Calendar alongside Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Mawlid al-Nabi and Ashoura, has passed. Imam Ali (A.S.), the brother of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W.); the one who is to Rasoulallah (S.A.W.W.) like Haroon (A.S.) was to Moussa (A.S.); the Mawla of all Muslims; the Gate to the City Of Knowledge; Asadullah; Al-Haydar; Al-Karrar; the Sole Standard-Bearer of Islam; the one, true Amir al-Mou’mineen is now 1,408 years old. Brightest, sweetest, loveliest and happiest of happy birthdays, o’ Commander of the Faithful (A.S.)!
We could speak of his unique position in all of history as the lone individual – as in, nobody before him and nobody after him – born inside the Kaaba. The crack in the Sublime Black Stone Of Heaven from the burst of light that emitted from his mother Fatima bint Asad (A.S.) upon giving birth to him remains to this day–despite all attempts by the Zio-Imperialist-owned House of Saud to eradicate the history of Ahlul Bayt (A.S.) We could speak of his philosophical prowess and unmatched erudition, qualities that gave rise to the Muʿtazilites. At the opposite end of the spectrum, we could speak of his mystifying poetry and intense gnosis – derived directly from knowledge of the Unseen gained from Muhammad al-Moustafa (S.A.W.W.) – that runs through the spiritual DNA of every Sufi tariqah on Earth. We could speak of the principles of his government that laid the groundwork for all human-rights-based political systems in the world today. We could speak of his piety, his humbleness, his courage, his eloquence, his ferocity, his love for the oppressed and his thwarting of the oppressors.
But all of this and more can, should and must be read elsewhere in the scholarly works written by far more capable, qualified and exceptional writers than yours truly. Allamah Baqir Shareef al-Qurashi’s “The Life Of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib”, Lucknow Luminary Mufti Ja’far Husayn’s “Biography Of Imam Ali Bin Abi Talib” and Lebanese-Christian George Jordac’s masterpiece, “The Voice Of Human Justice”, come to mind immediately. Instead, since our Mission Statement says that our purpose is to “increase Anti-Parasitic awareness in all peoples of the world, Muslims especially”, that’s what we will be tackling today: The unapologetic, colder-than-ice, dazzling and mighty Anti-Parasitism of Imam Ali (A.S.)
During the Battle of the Trench, spearheaded by the Jewish tribes of Banu Nadir and Banu Qurayzah, multiple conspiracies were hatched to murder the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W.) All of which were foiled by Imam Ali (A.S.) These were loathsome people, who insulted Rasoulallah (S.A.W.W.) on the battlefield with profanities and indecencies of every order. When Imam Ali (A.S.) went toe to toe with Banu Qurayzah’s goons, he heard the Judaic vileness with his own two blessed ears. He referred to them as the “filthy ones (Qurashi, page 88)”. After they were overrun by Al-Karrar’s (A.S.) genius battlefield tactics, Banu Qurayzah was humiliated and obliterated. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W.) left Saad ibn Muadh (R.A.) in charge of judging them. The Awsi Sahabi, who long knew of the Jews’ laws, ways and customs, as his tribe had done business with them for years, used their own Halakhic-Talmudic laws against them to sentence them for their treachery. It was Imam Ali (A.S.), swinging Zulfiqar with righteous vigor, who carried out the executions of these war criminals and aggressors–all of which the Imam deemed “evil (Qurashi, page 88)”.
Banu Nadir, for their abysmal part, sent an assassin, Amr ibn Jahhash (L.A.), to drop a massive boulder on the head of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W.) while he was resting in the shade in town. Al-Moustafa (S.A.W.W.) had a Divine vision to immediately return to Medina and the plot failed. Imam Ali (A.S.) was informed of the scheme and he then asked for permission to pursue these would-be killers. It was granted. The Imam (A.S.) caught Jahhash (L.A.), executed him and pursued all his cohorts that had attempted to escape into their fortresses. Amir al-Moumineen (A.S.) ensured that they didn’t make it that far (Qurashi, pages 88-89).
Later on, in the midst of the siege, the Jews cowardly attempted to strike the Muslims with arrows in the middle of the night whilst soldiers were either sleeping or praying. It was a Halakhic-Talmudic attempt to break the Muslims’ resolve. It was a failure but that wasn’t the point. They had violated the laws of war. And who else other than Ali (A.S.) would hunt down the subversive archers? It didn’t take him long and when he triumphantly returned to Rasoulallah (S.A.W.W.) with someone’s noggin in his fist, he declared, “This is the head of the famous Jewish bowman, Ghaloul (L.A.), who had sent the arrows towards your tent! He and nine of his fellow bowmen have been creeping around our camps. If I can lay my hands on them, I shall bring them dead or alive.” Like their counterparts in Banu Qurayzah, the Banu Nadir archers didn’t survive Zulfiqar (Husayn, pages 217-218).
Many love to invoke the miracle of Imam Ali (A.S.) tearing off the Qamos Fortress gate in the Battle of Khaybar and wielding it as a shield as he triumphantly led Muslims to arguably their greatest battlefield victory. What people don’t love mentioning is who it was that was fought at Khaybar and why there was a fight to start with. Haydar al-Karrar (A.S.) beat the brakes off the Jews in this military theater… Not the “Zionists”. But the Jews. And the reason for the conflict is that after the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W.) had shown love and mercy to the Khaybari Jews, signing a peace treaty with them and hoping to move forward in good faith towards the future, they secretly plotted against the forces of Islam.
They ripped up the treaty behind the back of Al-Moustafa (S.A.W.W.) and they amassed an army of more than 10,000 mercenaries. Some sources say 12,000 cutthroats! Despite minor successes at the start, the Islamic Army was ultimately overwhelmed and on the verge of a major loss. Amir al-Mou’mineen (A.S.), who usually commanded such battles, was suffering from a brutal eye sickness and couldn’t see. After calling on ALLAH (SWT) to aid his Ummah, the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W.) wet his thumbs with saliva and rubbed it into the Imam’s (A.S.) eyes like medicine, curing him instantly. The Wielder of Zulfiqar (A.S.) sprung into battle. Giant-like Southeast Asia Subcontinent ‘alim Sheikh Abdul-Haqq Dehlavi (R.A.) wrote in his famous “Madarijun-Nubuwwah” that a Khaybari rabbi barked at his people, screaming, “By the ‘Torah’, you will be defeated! This man will not go back without winning the battle!”
Sheikh Dehlavi (R.A.) insightfully remarked in his commentary on the history that, “Perhaps that Jew was well-informed of Ali’s (A.S.) valor and had seen his praises in the ‘Torah’.” We would add that the Masoretic rabbinical class that pieced the “Torah” back together following Titus mowing their temple down, may have removed nearly all the references to Isa al-Masih (A.S.), but bumbled and fumbled when it came to Ahlul Bayt (A.S.) as they hadn’t been sent to Earth by ALLAH (SWT) just yet. Needless to say, the concerned rabbi was on point, as Imam Ali (A.S.), with one swing of his blade in each instance, slew Marhab (L.A.), Antar (L.A.), Murrah (L.A.), Al-Harith (L.A.) and four other Jewish tribal commanders. The Khaybari Jews were crushed and Qamos was conquered in no less than four hours.
Marhab (L.A.), for the record, was the tallest and known as the most fearsome warrior in all of Khaybar. On top of that, when he faced Ali (A.S.), he was wearing double armor, double turbans, a helmet and was armed to the teeth with multiple swords. Yet… Again. All it took was one shot from the Imam (A.S.) and Khaybar’s “big dog” was turned into puppy chow. It should also be noted that following Rasoulallah’s (S.A.W.W.) poisoning at the hands of Zaynab bint al-Harith (L.A.), it was Ali (A.S.) who was at his side until his [seeming] recovery. He repeatedly cursed the murderess, “O’ Jewess! O’ poisoner! Your ploy today like the ploys of your accursed people before shan’t erase your defeat! Your abode soon will be with your brothers in the Fire!”
In the section “From the Sayings and Sermons of Imam Ali Ibn Abu Talib (A.S.) Including His Replies to Questions and Maxims Made for Various Purposes”, of Nahjul Balagha, Islam’s holiest and most important book following the Holy Qur’an, as it is Amir al-Mou’mineen’s (A.S.) incandescent words direct and uncut, there is a saying, numbered 327, that documents quite the interesting back-and-forth between several Yahoud and Amir al-Mou’mineen (A.S.), “Some Jews said to Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (A.S.): ‘You did not bury your Prophet when you picked up differences about him.’ It is then that Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (A.S.) replied thus: ‘We did not differ about him; we differed after him (i.e. about his succession). You had not dried up your feet yet, having come out of the river, when you began asking your Prophet: ‘Make for us a god as they have gods of their own.’ Said he: ‘Verily you are a people behaving ignorantly’ (Holy Qur’an 7:138).”
Shahid Ayatollah Murtada Motahhari (R.A.) provides us some critical commentary on this profound exchange, “The purpose behind this criticism by the Jews was to show that the Prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W.) was a controversial matter. But Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (A.S.) clarified the fact that the exact focus of controversy was not about his Prophethood but about his succession and vicegerency. Then, commenting on the status of the Jews, he pointed out that those who were today criticizing the mutual differences among Muslims after the Prophet were of the same kind as those who had begun to waver about belief in the Unity of ALLAH (SWT) even during the lifetime of Moses (A.S.)
“Thus, when, on becoming free of the slavery of the Egyptians they reached the other side of the river and saw the figure of a calf in a temple in the Sinai desert, they asked Moses to get a similar figure for them, whereupon Moses rebuked them for being still as stubborn as they were in Egypt. This meant that people who were so immersed in their desire for idol-worship that even after being initiated into the belief in the Unity of ALLAH (SWT), they still became restless on seeing an idol and made the request for a similar idol to be made for themselves. Such people had no right to criticize any differences among the Muslims.” Which means, when applied in the modern sense, that Jews don’t belong anywhere near movements, organizations or activist gatherings concerning Muslims and Muslim affairs. Chiefly anything pertaining to Palestine. As they remain restless, arrogant, polytheistic and hypocritical.
In the same section, saying number 478 reveals another illuminating exchange, this time between the Imam (A.S.) and Rasoulallah (S.A.W.W.), “The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W.) had also informed the Muslim Ummah that there will appear two types of deviated groups among the Muslims who will exceed the bounds of Islamic principles with regard to understanding Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (A.S.) as he himself has related: ‘The Messenger of ALLAH (SWT) called upon me and said: ‘Ya Ali! There is a resemblance between you and Isa son of Maryam (A.S.) whom the Jews hated so much that they laid a false accusation against his mother, and whom the Christians loved so much that they assigned to him the status which is not his’.” Now, why bring the Jews into the mix at all when the central point of the discussion was to beware of those who’d deviate in their allegiance to Ali (A.S.) and always make sure to check them? Because. The correlation wasn’t only spiritual but political. Ahmad al-Habib (S.A.W.W.) invoked it because just as the Jews waged war on Christ (A.S.) and plotted to take his life, they would launch the exact same stratagems against Imam Ali (A.S.)
Remaining in Nahjul Balagha, we move to Sermon 72, which relates to Marwan ibn al-Hakam (L.A.) begging Imam Hassan (A.S.) and Imam Hussein (A.S.) after being taken prisoner during the Battle of the Camel to intercede on his behalf following his abhorrent betrayal. When the young Chiefs of the Youth In Paradise (A.S.) brought the matter to their father’s attention, the Imam (A.S.) replied with lightning, thunder, earthquakes and tsunamis, “Did he not swear me allegiance after the killing of Uthman? Now I do not need his allegiance because his is the hand of a Jew. If he swears me allegiance with his hand he would violate it after a short while. Well, he is to get power for so long as a dog licks his nose. He is the father of four rams (who will also rule). The people will face hard days through him and his sons.” Yes, of course the Imam (A.S.) was making the point that Jews are dishonest as well as two-faced and Marwan (L.A.) is akin to them. The Imam (A.S.) was using “Jew” as an insult because of the Jews’ status as “cursed” in the Holy Qur’an. This is blatant. But there was something else; a more esoteric meaning to the Imam (A.S.) schooling his innocent boys on the evils of Banu Umayyah. We repeat. Marwan (L.A.) is akin to the Jews. A-kin to the Jews. A… KIN… to the Jews. Got it?
Which brings us to the section called, “Selected Writings of Our Master, Imam Ali Ibn Abu Talib (A.S.), His Letters To His Enemies and Governors of His Provinces, Including Selections of His Letters Appointing His Administrative Officers and Injunctions to Members of His Family and Companions”, Letter 17, titled “In Reply to a Letter from Mouawiyah”. The Imam (A.S.) writes, “As for your saying that both of us are sons of Abd Manaf, it is undoubtedly so, but Umayyah cannot be like Hashim, nor can Harb be like Abdul-Muttalib, nor can Abu Sufyan be like Abu Talib. The muhajir (immigrant) cannot be a match for whoever was set free (when Mecca fell), nor can one of a pure descent be a match for one who is adopted, nor the pursuer of truth can be a match to the adherent to wrongdoing, nor can a believer be a match for a hypocrite… How bad are the successors who go on following their predecessors who have already fallen into the fire of Hell! Besides, we also have the distinction of Prophethood among us by virtue of which we subdued the strong and raised up the downtrodden. When ALLAH (SWT) made Arabia enter (the fold of) His religion and when the [Arab] people submitted to it willingly or unwillingly, you were among those who entered the religion either out of greed or out of fear, at a time when those who had gone first had preceded and when the first Muhajirun had acquired their own distinction. Now, do not give Satan a share in you, nor should you let him have his sway over you, and that is the end of the matter.”
Scathing! Now, reading it on the surface, you may think that the Imam (A.S.) is speaking in metaphorical generalities about Mouawiyah (L.A.) and the Umayyads. But he is not. He is speaking literally. And this is confirmed by this little tidbit here, “Nor can one of a pure descent be a match for one who is adopted”. This was a dagger targeting Mouawiyah’s (L.A.) unholy bloodline specifically. The genealogical truth is brought into the light by a policy paper perfectly titled “Banu Umayyah and the Yahoud” from the Islamic Revolution’s Jewish Studies Center (sources can be read here as well as here and here). Through this solid research, we know for certain that Umayyah, the son of Abd Shams ibn Abd Manaf, was indeed adopted and was indeed from Palestine. But he was not “Roman” or “Rumiyeh”, as originally suspected. Nor was he “Caananite” or “Palestinian”. He was a Jew. Simply put then, when the Holy Qur’an refers to the “accursed tree” that we all know is Banu Umayyah, it is referring to a wayward, bastardized, cursed, rebelling Judaic tribe. Consider this the original sin of the Umayyads. And this is not written in the biological determinist or racialist sense, but the Islamic/Christian/spiritual sense: The Jews have always rebelled against ALLAH (SWT) and His Messengers. Are the Umayyads not the very personification of that shaytanic tradition?
This is driven home by a gemstone to end all gemstones in Tafsir al-Burhan by Sayyed Hashim al-Tubili al-Bahraini (R.A.), the greatest Islamic thinker in Bahraini history and one of Islam’s best, period. He quotes commentary from Imam Jaafar al-Sadiq (A.S.) himself in relation to the 4th Ayah in Surat al-Isra, “And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the Scripture, that indeed you would do mischief on the earth twice and you will become tyrants and extremely arrogant!” The chain of narrators is as follows, Muhammad Ibn Yaqoub (R.A.), from Sahl Ibn Ziyad (R.A.), from Muhammad Ibn Hassan Ibn Sham’oun (R.A.), from Abdallah Ibn Abdur Rahman Asam (R.A.), from Abdullah Ibn Qasim Batal (R.A.), from Imam Ja’far Al Sadiq (A.S.), “In regards to ‘that indeed you would do mischief on the earth twice’, it refers to the murder of Amir al-Mou’mineen Ali (A.S.), and the injury of Imam Hassan (A.S.) via the trust of a lance! And in regards to ‘and you will become tyrants and extremely arrogant!’, it refers to the murder of Imam Hussein (A.S.)!” If the 6th Imam of the Jaafari Shi’a tradition, and a personality who is revered by all Muslims, was on a stage giving a lecture after uttering these bombshells, he’d drop the mic and depart. Because it’d be over.
We were told by Rasoulallah (S.A.W.W.) in Hadith al-Thaqalayn to hold on to the Holy Qur’an and the Ahlul Bayt (A.S.) and we will never go astray. Well. The Holy Qur’an and the Ahlul Bayt (A.S.), represented here by Al-Sadiq (A.S.), disclose to us that the Jews are behind the deaths of the first three Imams (A.S.) Ashoura is especially affirmed by mounds of evidence. We also know that later on, Imam Jawad (A.S.) and Imam Ali al-Hadi (A.S.) were murdered by Jews too. As we dig deeper and deeper into Islamic history, we have no doubt that we will find the Branches of the Accursed Tree again and again.
Maybe the unearthing of such truths is linked to the 5th Ayah in Surat al-Isra, “So, when the promise came for the first of the two, We sent against you slaves of Ours given to terrible warfare. They entered the very innermost parts of your homes. And it was a promise (completely) fulfilled.” Once more, we refer to the commentary of Imam Jaafar al-Sadiq (A.S.), “In regards to ‘So, when the promise came for the first of the two’, it refers to the time Imam Hussein (A.S.) will be avenged! And in regards to ‘We sent against you slaves of Ours given to terrible warfare’, it refers to the people who will rise near the arrival of Imam al-Qa’im (A.J.T.F.), and avenge all the blood that was spilled from our Household! Furthermore, ‘And it was a promise (completely) fulfilled’ refers to these events that will surely unfold!” Verily, may justice be implemented by the Sons of Zulfiqar against the Offspring of Khaybar. Both in word and in action!
And on that very note, we conclude. Of course, this undertaking would not be complete without the final words of Imam Ali (A.S.) when he was struck in the head with a poison sword whilst he was in sujjoud by the terrorist-assassin Ibn Muljim (L.A.) in the Great Mosque of Kufa, “In the name of ALLAH (SWT)! And on the very Deen of ALLAH’s (SWT) Holy Messenger (S.A.W.W.)! I have really won. I swear it by the Lord of Kaaba! O’ people! The son of the Jewess, Ibn Muljim, has killed me.” The Imam (A.S.) could’ve called this monster anything. Son of Shaytan. Son of Jahiliyyah. Idol-worshiper. Oppressor. Stooge. Murderer! Anything! But no. With his last breath, the Peak of Eloquence (A.S.), a man who ALWAYS chose his words CAREFULLY, POWERFULLY AND BRILLIANTLY, and a man who never minced those words either, pointed out to all who would follow him (and all who invariably and unfortunately wouldn’t), that his assassin, the criminal who would crack the skull of the Brother of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W), was a Jew. Verily, there’s a sign in that if you have a brain. One needn’t be an Ayatollah or a Hujjat al-Islam or a Sheikh or even a Hawza student. Imam Ali (A.S.) was letting Muslims know then and for all-time that the Jews and their agents are the enemies of Islam. And if you’re desperate for proof… Look no further than his own martyrdom.
Ahmad al-Habib (S.A.W.W.) said, “A learned man is harder on the devils than a thousand ignorant worshipers.” The most learned man of all was Imam Ali (A.S.) And nobody was harder on the devils of the devils, the Jewish supremacists who waged war on Islam from day one, than he. Be more like Amir al-Mou’mineen (A.S.), not the SJW “Muslims” who, if the Commander of the Faithful (A.S.) were physically present for this momentous occasion, would slander him as an “anti-Semite”. Ya Ali (A.S.)! You said, “Whoever gallops with a loose rein collides with death.” Our reins couldn’t be tighter!
Ya Karrar (A.S.)! We cling to your wisdom like a baby clings to his mother and know as firmly as we know you were constructed by ALLAH (SWT) from the same Nour as Rasoulallah (S.A.W.W.), that when you said or wrote something, you meant it; that when you did something, we were destined to follow it. Thus, when you condemn the Jews as filthy and cursed, ignorant and defeated and the enemies of Deen al-Fitra, we know it to be true. We won’t let the Ahlul Kufa of today pervert and subvert your heroic disposition which couldn’t be any clearer even if you put your signature on the bottom of this essay. They fashion themselves as “Social Justice Warriors” but are nothing more than a wretched gang of Westoxified and Judaized fools. For they are more fearful of the Jews, who you smashed militarily and intellectually, than they are of the Lord of the Kaaba (SWT). How dare they even speak your name! Ya Haydar (A.S.)! Curses on the Yahoud. Victory to Islam. Such stances are the way of Imam Ali (A.S.), the Vanquisher of Khaybar. And thus… The only way we know… And the only way we need.
