Israel approves plans for 1,000 new settler homes in East Jerusalem

Palestinian presidency spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeinah on Monday described as “dangerous” and “unacceptable” recent Israeli violations against Palestinian holy sites and a recently-disclosed plan by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to build 1,060 new Zionist settlements in occupied East Jerusalem.

“These dangerous Israeli violations make the [Palestinian leadership’s] decision to resort to international organizations and the United Nations Security Council an urgent matter,” Abu Rudeinah was quoted as saying by the official Palestinian news agency.

Abu Rudeinah said the entire Middle East region was heading full tilt toward an “earthquake” that would affect everybody. Continue reading Israel approves plans for 1,000 new settler homes in East Jerusalem

Gaza’s injured try to resume their lives with prosthetics

by Bayan Abdel Wahad, Al-Akhbar English

Injured young man Ahmed Abdullah leans against the wall as he waits his turn in a long queue to see a doctor. All these patients need to find out if the stump where their arm or leg used to be can be fitted with a prosthetic. Waiting is unbearable and painful, especially since thousands more have joined the list of injured Gazans as a result of the last Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

Gaza – Amputations are not the only phenomenon that stands out. Some patients are suffering from other ailments besides loss of limbs. Abdullah had his only hand on his forehead in an attempt to ameliorate his headache.

The Artificial Limb Center in the Gaza Strip is the only place of its kind providing services for amputees and it has over 48 individuals in urgent need of prosthetic replacement. The most complicated cases are people who lost both legs. Ahmed, from the Shujayeh neighborhood in east Gaza, who is standing with the other patients preferred to remain silent, not to maintain the quiet in the center but because his doctor told him that the shrapnel wounds in his head might interfere with his ability to express himself verbally. US universities see a rise in pro-Palestine activism

Pro-Palestinian activism has risen significantly on US campuses since Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip in the summer, according to a Jewish civil society organization.

The New York-based Anti-Defamation League said in a report published Friday that there had been 75 “anti-Israel” events scheduled on US campuses since the beginning of the 2014-2015 academic year, which started in late August or early September at most American universities.

“During the same time period last year, there were only 35 of those events scheduled, marking a 114 percent increase in the number of those events scheduled to take place this year,” the report said. Continue reading US universities see a rise in pro-Palestine activism

At least 5 arrested in fresh East Jerusalem clashes

JERUSALEM (AFP) — At least five Palestinians were arrested during fresh clashes overnight Sunday in East Jerusalem, where hundreds of extra police have been deployed to tackle mounting unrest, authorities said.

The clashes were especially intense in the flashpoint Silwan neighborhood, an area near the Old City that was the home of Abd al-Rahman Shaludi, the Palestinian driver who ran into a Jerusalem crowd, killing an Israeli baby.

Police dispersed stone-throwing protesters in Silwan overnight, spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP, adding that there was scattered unrest again on Sunday morning. Continue reading At least 5 arrested in fresh East Jerusalem clashes

Israeli forces detain 15 Palestinians overnight

Al-Khalil (Ma’an) — Israeli forces arrested 15 Palestinians in the West Bank overnight, sources said Sunday.

A spokesman of the popular committee in Beit Ummar told Ma’an that Israeli forces had broken into several homes in the Hebron-area town and arrested four young Palestinian men.

Report: Palestinians barred from Israeli West Bank buses

JERUSALEM (AFP) — Palestinians will be effectively banned from riding the same buses as Israeli settlers in the West Bank, local media said Sunday, with a rights group slamming the plan as “racial segregation.”

Hundreds of Palestinians travel each day to work in Israel from the occupied West Bank, mainly in the construction business, using a single crossing point at Eyal where they present travel permits.

Currently they are allowed to return to the West Bank on the same buses as Israeli settlers.

But a new measure announced by Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, due to go into effect next month, will require them to again check in at the Eyal crossing point, the Haaretz daily reported. Continue reading Report: Palestinians barred from Israeli West Bank buses

Thousands attend funeral of slain US-Palestinian teen

(EDITOR’S NOTE:  The US response to yet another Zionist crime against humanity inflicted upon an American citizen isn’t even the least bit surprising. Washington’s response to the “Israeli” police’s beating of Tariq Abu Khdeir, the IOF’s monstrous killing of Rachel Corrie just before the Jewish-designed invasion of Iraq, the cold-blooded murder of Furkan Dogan aboard the Freedom Flotilla and the crippling of Tristan Anderson were all equally reprehensible. Not even a cent of aid to the criminal Talmudic enclave  has been cut. Why? Because Zionist money controls the US political system and every person within it knows where their bread is buttered. ~ Jonathan Azaziah) Continue reading Thousands attend funeral of slain US-Palestinian teen

Rousseff reelected president of Brazil

(EDITOR’S NOTE: This a huge victory for the Global South and the overall worldwide resistance against Zio-Imperialism. The CIA and ubiquitous, meddlesome Jewish-Zionist billionaire George Soros were desperately attempting to unseat President Rousseff, but as the case has been since Comandante Chávez  — rest in peace — came to power in Venezuela 15 years ago — despite some setbacks, like the “Israeli”-driven coup against Honduran President Manuel Zelaya in June 2009 and the CIA-backed ‘soft’ coup which overthrew Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo in 2012 — the Latin American people’s power prevailed over the Empire’s plots, manifested in this instance by neoliberal gusano Aecio Neves. Granted, Rousseff’s policies vis-à-vis the usurping Zionist entity aren’t where they should be, but if her stance during the recent “Israeli” onslaught against Gaza was any indication, then we hope they will soon become as fierce as her counterparts in Sucre, Caracas, Managua and Quito. Congratulations to President Dilma Rousseff and the Brazilian people, may the peace, blessings and protection of ALLAH (SWT) be with them. ~ Jonathan Azaziah)

Brazil’s leftist president Dilma Rousseff has been re-elected for another term with over 51 percent of the vote in a tight presidential run-off on Sunday. Continue reading Rousseff reelected president of Brazil
